The Peppered Cupcake is always looking for cupcake enthusiasts to join our team and individuals with a strong work ethic.

Who are we looking for?

  • Firstly, we are looking for mature adults. If you are a student, we are not looking to accommodate your schedule. Our servers would come aboard to accommodate our scheduling needs.

  • We hire fun, smart, energetic, positive, honest team members.

  • Someone that is committed and prompt every shift. This would be a long-term position and we ARE NOT looking for someone looking for a job today and not tomorrow. 

  • We are looking for genuinely caring staff members. Genuinely happy to see customers come and courteous enough to acknowledge as they leave by inviting them to return soon.

  • To be considered for a position at TPC, you must be professional and maintain a serious, yet fun and positive attitude as you will be directly working with our customer base.

  • You Must have EXCELLENT people and phone skills. This means you must enunciate and articulate with absolute confidence while working with our awesome customers.

  • Each team member Must be able to multi task exceptionally well. We are very detail oriented and would expect it to show in your job performance as you are not just boxing up cupcakes. You are "finishing" our end product and you must be capable of duplicating and learning every cake.

  • Must have reliable transportation. 

  • We ask for 2 references from 2 former positions which will be contacted prior to offering a position.

  • You must be willing to take a drug test.

  • The position will "may"require you to be available to work during the week days and on the weekends. Please see the hours needed below currently. We are closed Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Must be available to work Holiday Eve's. No exceptions.

About the position

The position is for a part-time Front of House Server and pays $12/hour plus cash tips. This means you will be greeting customers, answering questions about the cupcakes, selling the cupcakes, finishing the final product and boxing the finished product. Training will be provided for all.

You will be working the store alone. This means you will close the store by yourself at the Racine location. We are open Wednesday through Saturday from 11am-5:30pm. If you must ask your parents for permission to work by yourself and close, this is not a position for you. Please do not contact if you are unsure.

Hours currently needed: Saturdays 10:30-6pm

  4. You must read and fill out all necessary paperwork.

  6. To schedule an interview, you must call the shop at 910-399-1088. When the auto attendent answers, press  7 to leave a message. So we know that you have come through the website and read this far, your message must state:

  • the reason you are calling,

  • your name 

  • call back number 

  • where you saw the job post

Keep in mind that your interview starts with your voicemail. This an integral part of your position. Clarity and professionalism is a must. If we feel your phone presence is a good fit, you will receive a callback for an initial interview. The interview will last approximately 30 minutes or more if we feel you may be a good fit.

 

DO NOT DROP OFF PAPERS W/O SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT. This position is about listening and following instructions. If you've made it this far, you're half way there. If you feel this process has been a little much just to apply, then it has served its purpose by weeding out the vast majority. We are looking for the motivated and those who love the challenge.
