Our Newest Flavors

Here's the page to catch our latest creations. I bet I have 15 new ideas waiting in the wings that I can't wait to try...but I (you too) have to be patient and space them out! I think I really could lie awake at night (which I already do) thinking of "what next?"

March 2018

Inspiration here came from bubble tea shops. Tara, aka purple yam, is a tropical plant where only the root part is used here and gives a nutty vanilla presence on the pallet. Finished with fresh whipped cream.

Bacon & Cumin Banana Pudding

March 8, 2015

Sweet and yes savory. I have for some time wanted to do a little something unique to a traditional Southern favorite. The Banana Pudding. We do have a traditional one here at TPC and it flies out of here like crazy so I decided not to change that one. So, I was trying to think of a spice to add to my bananas and while perusing my stocked pantry, cumin caught my eye. The two together just paired so nicely. So, one day I was feeding AlyviaJo, our 6 month old, some bananas and I was eating bacon. I kept licking my fingers in between feeding ourselves..lol, and noticed the bacon and banana just rubbed together so well. So we stuffed bananas and pudding in the center just like our traditional banana pudding and topped it with a vanilla bean buttercream just like the other, but we added a hint of cumin. Yum was the result! Oh, this needed a side kick, so a stuffed wonton filled with bananas, cumin, brown sugar, bacon and yes pudd'n sealed and lightly fried to a golden crisp and finished with sugared cumin.

Folks always ask how we come up with our combinations and well, I can't always tell you the same story. This time AlyviaJo's meal was my inspiration:)

Carrot & Cardamom

December 17, 2014

Cocktail inspired, I've been wanting to try this one! I saw a carrot juice and cardamom holiday cocktail and thought, "wow!" As you know I love to eat and looooove unique ingredient combinations. Cardamom is part of the ginger family and happens to be the 3rd most expensive spice in the world. Saffron being number 1 and vanilla 2nd. This cuppy looks very similar to our Pumpkin Tiramisu but tastes nothing of the sort. I made my own carrot butter, yes! Apple butter, no, carrot butter! Simmered down with some cardamom and whoala!! A gingery concoction. I use it twice in this cupcake..once I whip it into a buttercream and 2nd into a whipped cream which makes it light and fluffy and dallop it in the middel of the buttercream which sits atop a vanilla stuffed vanilla cake. Finished with a unique touch. Whole wheat saltine crackers that I toasted with butter, sugar and salt. A great crunch to the soft texture underneath.

The Peppered Cupcake

October 9, 2014

Staying true to our name, we continuously are looking for new preserves, jams, even relishes. Here is our newest Peppered cupcake. Fresh red bell peppered and a little jalapeno made into a relish and stuffed into the center of our original Peppered cupccake wtih a very light cream cheese buttercream and finished with fresh cracked peppercorn.

Pumpkin Tiramisu

October 9, 2014

Certainly not new here at TPC, but with the holidays approaching there is nothing better than a fresh roasted pumpkin...what to do with pumpkin? I absolutely love pumpkin soup! Not sure it would be a good cupcake but hey, it's an idea too. You never know here at TPC. We roast a pumpkin and roast our own pumpkin seeds as well and toss them with a little sea salt.  We take the roasted pumpkin and mix it with holiday spices and fluff it just a little...hehe! Our secret;) We then dollop the pumpkin in the middle of a very light cream cheese buttercream that rests on a vanilla stuffed vanilla cake. Then finished with cinnamon crumbs and fresh roasted pumpkin seeds. Wait till the cranberries arrive!

Chevre and Bacon Wrapped Date with Rosemary

October 9, 2014

Love goat cheese. Something about goat cheese with honey. Mmmm!! Here we've roasted a date and rosemary with bacon then set it atop a goatcheese buttercream and drizzled with honey.

Here you'll find a fresh pear sauce whipped into a buttercream then topped off with savory bacon jam...yum! This one can be served warm too or cold.

Italian Cream

July 15, 2014

A customer came in last week and had a slice of Italian Cream cake and I had to have a slice. So, I headed up the street here to the coffee shop across the street and got a slice of this homemade piece of heaven. Here's my version of Italian Cream. Filled with vanilla cream and the cake has pecans and coconut mixed in then topped with a creamcheese buttercream and finished with a spicy candied walnut. Yum!

June 3, 2014

Here is one that I've been placing on the back burner for some time. Wasabi! A Japanese horseradish and one of my all time favorite tag alongs to one of my favorite cuisines..sushi! We are The Peppered Cupcake, so trying to keep up with our name and to also remind you that we do offer cupcakes differently here. This one is a very subtle wasabi taste. As you know wasabi can bring tears to your eyes and the only reason we want you to cry is because it's so good. So give it a try. I think you will be very pleased.

Lemonade Thyme

April 30, 2014

These are so refreshing and I've wanted to create a lemonade flavor. We do have a lemon curry which is a wonderful combination. I wanted something more summertime and different. Fresh Lemon and Thyme infused buttercream atop a vanilla stuffed vanilla cake with fresh whipped cream and lemon wedge. Love that fresh whipped cream!

Cucumber & Tarragon

April 30, 2014

Not just a dessert, it's an experience. Didn't we say we think outside of the box here? I have for a long time wanted to work with this combination. Yum!

Cucumbers marinated in tarragon and whipped into a subtle sweet buttercream. Piped onto a vanilla cream buttercream and topped with a pickled cucumber. Unique indeed!

Green Tea

April 29, 2014

This was actually created almost a year ago for the first time and got put on the back burner. Some friends of mine owned an Asian bistro and wanted some of my cuppies as their dessert. We all got sidetracked and I knew I'd come back to it.

Green tea infused buttercream floating on a chocolate brownie cake and finished with crystallized ginger slices.

Warm Maple Nut

April 18, 2014

This little guy was an accident waiting to happen. I started out with something else in mind and this is what happened. Warm maple buttery sauce drizzled on top of a chocolate brownie cake stuffed with walnuts and cherries. I think I could bathe in this sauce.

Bourbon Black Cherry & Vanilla Cobbler

Posted February 20, 2014

Black Cherries simmered in Bourbon and vanilla then puddled into a creamcheese buttercream that sits atop a vanilla cream stuffed vanilla cake and finished with a cinnamon buttery piecrust.

Peach & Citrus Cobbler

Posted February 20, 2014

I had the idea of infusing this one with Grande Marnier and I tried it; however, I didn't notice any difference than just using a regular orange liqueur. So saving the cost since you couldn't tell, no Grande Marnier. It is very tasty with the citrus flair infustion.

Warm peaches infused with an orange liqueur and citrus zest dolloped atop a vanilla cream stuffed vanilla cake surrounded by a creamcheese butter cream and finished with buttery pie crust.

Strawberry Basil Cobbler

Posted February 20, 2014

Tiramisu has to be my favorite all time dessert. I wanted to use a home-made lady finger here just couldn't make it work the way I wanted. My second close was a wedding cookie. So, I hope you enjoy my cupcake version of Tiramisu.
